Stronger together
Field Building
We contribute to the ever-growing field of equitable banking by collaborating and connecting a diverse group of stakeholders.
We share our insight, knowledge, networks, and resources with economic and financial justice advocates. We mobilize mission-aligned banks to use their capacity to advance banking systems change. And we promote good banking solutions and best practices to the public. Check out spotlights below.
Spotlight: Popular education for change
We partner with key groups in the equitable banking space to increase the depth of understanding about the problems in finance and work toward solutions together. Most recently, we worked with Take On Wall Street to deliver a Race, Gender, and Finance training to 35+ participants. The goal was to understand the role financialization plays in our lives and learn what we can do about it. The workshop was geared toward bankers, impact investors, and economic justice advocates to draw connections between banking and finance and social issues.
Spotlight: Inspiring audiences to join the equitable banking movement
We speak at events, conferences, and classrooms across the country. Our goals are to inform and educate people about the equitable banking movement, and to provide tangible takeaways as to how we all play in a role to transform the banking system. From climate justice to social innovation to financial reform, banking touches all issues. Recent speaking engagements include those with the Community Development Bankers Association, Institute for the Future, National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Bay Area Book Festival, SOCAP, Confluence Philanthropy, and Women in Data Science.

Spotlight: Stakeholder convenings
We organize stakeholders in the equitable banking space to lend their expertise, knowledge, insight, and capacity to address key banking issues. Most recently, we held convenings with 20+ stakeholders respectively around two critical banking issues: public banking and a California state-level consumer financial protection agency.
Spotlight: Catalyzing our network to action
Our digital communications including social media and our blog serve to connect and educate our audiences of bankers, advocates, policymakers, and people demanding change. We bring a new frame of “What’s banking got to do with it?” to a diverse array of racial, social, and environmental justice issues to catalyze the equitable banking field (including you!) to action.
