Beneficial State Foundation Perspectives

Our thoughts on changing the banking system for good and building the new economy

We join the voices of millions calling on this Administration to #KeepFamiliesTogether

The new White House policy of separating immigrant children, including infants, from their mothers and fathers at the border transcends politics and even ideology; it is inhumane and immoral. To remain silent is analogous to complicity.  In effect, the Administration is using this tactic to extract political concessions from those who oppose its immigration agenda. Terrorizing children by separating them from their parents constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights. At a minimum, this new policy is a flagrant violation of at least the following three articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to which the United States of America is a signatory: Article 5, “No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment;” Article 14, section (1), “Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution;” and Article 16, section (3), “The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.”

Beneficial State Foundation is committed to building a more equitable society for all. The underpinnings of a new society cannot be built when the state is violating the basic human rights of children. Our most important task today is to join our voices with those of the millions of people who are calling on the White House to halt its policy of separating children from their parents and to immediately reunite the children who have been taken from their parents.
